Westminster is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team.

Shelby Moon (deceased)

Senior Pastor

Our beloved Pastor Shelby Zhand Moon has gone home to the Lord after an 8 year battle with leukemia. Rev. Shelby Zahnd Moon, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Alamogordo, New Mexico, passed away on August 28, 2025.

Matthew McMillan

Ruling Elder

Matt McMillan is a native New Mexican. He and his wife Joanna and kids have lived in the Alamogordo area and been a part of Westminster since 2013. Along with playing keyboard on the worship team and teaching children’s Sunday school, Matt began serving as an elder in October 2018. He enjoys playing piano, spending time with his family and exploring the southern New Mexico mountains.

Karl Shulze

Deacon

Karl Schulze has served as a Deacon since January, 2016. Karl and his wife, Marjorie found their church home at Westminster Presbyterian and became members in July, 2014. They moved to Alamogordo in 2013 from Raton, NM where they owned and operated a motel. Karl was born in Albuquerque, NM, however was raised in Denver, CO where he lived until moving to Raton in 1994. Prior to moving to Raton, Karl worked as a sheet metal mechanic and CNC programmer in the Denver area. Karl volunteers for Love INC of Otero County, working primarily in building maintenance. In his free time, Karl enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with Marjorie and their dog, Baxter.
